H&M x Kenzo

H&M back again with another huge collaboration but this time its the Paris based power house Kenzo who take the stage.

After the huge success of last year’s H&M Balmain campaign, where Balmain fans got crazy just to be able to get a chance of getting the kardarshian-esque look. the Swedish brand got to collaborate with Olivier Rousteign head of the French fashion house Balmain to create a limited line of clothing. This got fans queued up in front of store waiting for the opening of the collection which eventually got sold out in a few hours.

The latest of H&Ms collaboration is with another Paris fashion house; Kenzo. The French luxury brand was founded in 1970 by Japanese Takada Kenzo and their clothing line is often characterized by bright colors with bold animal prints.

The creative directors of this collaboration, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon stated 'With this collaboration with H&M we want to think big, push the boundaries and bring the new energy of Kenzo to everyone around the world.'

The collection which was released on the 3rd of November was what we expected to get from Kenzo. A wide range of bright colors which presents the high-grade level of fashion with zebra, tiger, leopard prints and unexpected patterns which gives you the feel of the jungle. It had a wide variety of items ranging from T-shirts, pullovers, Jackets and dresses. This makes it possible for everyone to find at least one item which suits his/her personal style. The color patterns will make you stand out from the crowd and are well suited for the night life.

Humberto Leon: ”We like to make sure each piece [in the collection] has its own value and feels special, but at the same time that the collection as a whole feels really united. That means people should be as excited to own a t-shirt as they are to own a dress. Each piece should feel deliberate.”

According to H&M the collection made with Kenzo on the basis of its "vibrant and playful" vibe that "captures the energy of global culture to create its unique, youthful spirit."

Most of the negative comments about the collection if from people which do not like the animal prints. In my opinion the collection was up to my expectation and I was impressed the variety of items in the collection. Even though it may not be able to create the kind of frenzy as the Balmain campaign, it will be a success. I Want to hear from you. What do you think of the H&M x Kenzo collection?
